In case you missed it, this week's episode of Mythbusters included segments
on tenderizing meat using explosives. To help evaluate the relative
tenderness of the samples, the Mythbusters called upon Ron Seigel, whom they
described as "the only American chef to win on the original Japanese Iron
Chef." I'm not sure that statement is accurate (i.e Flay split his battles
with Morimoto) but it was cool nonetheless.

Yes. I believe he beat Sakai.

Maybe it will come up on the Fine Living Network (where they currently are
showing Japanese Iron Chef episodes).
